Tottenham emerge as contenders to sign Champions League left-back after standout display against Barcelona – sources say.

Tottenham, Manchester City, and West Ham have joined Manchester United and Arsenal in keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown after his standout display against Barcelona in Tuesday’s Champions League match. The 22-year-old, already capped twice by Germany, assisted Frankfurt’s goal in their 2-1 loss at the Camp Nou and has been in impressive form all season. Primarily deployed on the left, Brown excels when allowed to push forward, and his energetic, modern playing style has drawn strong Premier League interest. TEAMtalk sources believe a move to England now appears likely.

West Ham were among the first to scout him, but top clubs have since entered the race with potential bids being lined up for 2026. Tottenham’s growing interest is significant, particularly with Destiny Udogie sidelined. While Udogie is expected to return in January, his injury has emphasised Spurs’ need for greater depth as Thomas Frank targets major honours. Brown has therefore become a key player under assessment. Manchester City are also watching closely as they plan to recruit a new full-back within the next two windows.

Frankfurt are willing to sell if their valuation is met, even though Brown only arrived in January 2024. Any deal would likely surpass £50m, and the defender is said to be open to a Premier League switch should the right proposal come in. A summer transfer is more likely, though a huge January offer could change Frankfurt’s stance.
