Heung-min Son offers a deeply appreciative message to Tottenham fans in his emotional farewell statement.

Heung-min Son delivered a warm — and slightly playful — message to Tottenham supporters before their 3-0 Champions League win over Slavia Prague. The moment felt right, as Son returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a European night, a stage where he once thrived. He played a key role in Spurs’ famous 2018/19 Champions League run, scoring vital goals against Manchester City, and later helped secure the Europa League title last season — his first trophy after a decade of dedication to the club.
Although he appeared in one final pre-season friendly before leaving, he never had the chance to properly say farewell. His return to North London gave him that opportunity. Addressing the fans before kick-off, he promised he would remain a Spurs supporter for life and jokingly invited them to visit him in Los Angeles.
“Good evening everyone, it’s Sonny. I hope you haven’t forgotten me — I’m still around. These ten years have been unbelievable. Thank you. I’ll always be Spurs, this will always feel like home, and I’ll never forget you. Please come to LA whenever you like. I love you all. Come on you Spurs!” he said (TNT Sports).
Son picked the perfect night to come back, watching his former teammates ease to a 3-0 victory, with two new signings finding the net and proving that Spurs can thrive even without him.
