Liverpool exit on the cards as new arrival lined up for 2025
Alexander Isak has come under heavy scrutiny following his expensive switch to Liverpool, and suggestions have now emerged that he could eventually be moved on.
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has shared his thoughts on the Swedish striker’s situation. The Reds spent close to £130 million to sign Isak on deadline day, but the forward has yet to justify that fee with his performances.
Isak finding things difficult
The attacker is still short of full match sharpness after missing the entire pre-season due to issues at Newcastle. He has struggled to make an impact so far and has been overshadowed by Hugo Ekitike this campaign.
Hamann has suggested that if Isak does not show clear improvement by March or April, Liverpool may consider discussing a sale once the season concludes. How matters unfold remains uncertain.
Speaking to The Mag, he said:
“If Alexander Isak doesn’t improve by March or April, Liverpool could look at selling him to a club like Barcelona in the summer. There would be no shortage of interest because he showed his quality during his time at Newcastle United.”
An exit still seems doubtful
Isak’s slow start can largely be explained by his lack of pre-season, and he may still rediscover his form and confidence in the coming weeks. At his best, he could significantly strengthen Liverpool’s attack. His technical ability allows him to play across the front line, making him a valuable option.
It would be surprising for Liverpool to offload their record signing so soon after his arrival. Hamann’s comments appear to be speculative, and prising Isak away from Anfield in the near future would be extremely difficult.
While Barcelona have been mentioned as a possible destination, their ongoing financial problems make it unlikely they could present an offer acceptable to Liverpool.
