Steven Gerrard has publicly thrown his full support behind Arne Slot as Liverpool head coach, while making it clear he would be willing to assist his boyhood club in any capacity if called upon.

The former Reds captain, who has been without a managerial role since departing Al-Ettifaq nearly a year ago, was previously encouraged by Rio Ferdinand to be “ready” amid growing pressure on Slot earlier in the season.
