Arne Slot’s post-match remarks following Liverpool’s defeat have been slammed as “salty.”

Arne Slot was slammed as “insufferable” and “rattled” following his post-match interview after Liverpool’s 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Premier League champions have now lost four straight games across all competitions, with Harry Maguire netting a late winner at Anfield. Bryan Mbuemo had fired United ahead just two minutes in — while Alexis Mac Allister was down injured — before Cody Gakpo levelled things up. But Maguire’s 84th-minute header sealed United’s first victory at Anfield since 2016 and eased pressure on manager Rúben Amorim.

Slot is enduring his toughest spell yet at Liverpool, with his side out of form and winless since beating Southampton in the Carabao Cup. However, the Dutchman stirred controversy after the match by accusing United of sitting deep and relying on long balls.

> “It’s always tough facing a team that defends in a low block and mainly plays long balls,” Slot told Sky Sports. “It becomes even harder when you go 1-0 down inside a minute while one of your players is on the ground. If you told me before the game that we’d create that many chances against such a setup, I wouldn’t have believed we’d lose.”

His remarks didn’t sit well with many fans online, who accused him of making excuses instead of taking responsibility.
