Tottenham announce 17-man travelling squad for Champions League clash, with 12 players left out.
Tottenham have confirmed a 17-man travelling squad for their Champions League trip to Monaco, with 12 players missing out due to injuries and other issues.
Mathys Tel is among those unavailable, as he was not registered in Spurs’ Champions League squad at the start of the campaign. The same applies to Radu Dragusin, Kota Takai, and long-term absentees James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. Dominic Solanke and Yves Bissouma are also sidelined with injury problems.
There are additional concerns over captain Cristian Romero, who pulled out of the Aston Villa match during the warm-up and has not trained ahead of the Monaco clash. Left-back Destiny Udogie and defender Ben Davies were also absent from training.
As a result, Thomas Frank faces restricted options when selecting his 20-man matchday squad. Tottenham released a travel video on social media showing 17 players boarding the flight to France.
Those spotted included goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario; defenders Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, Djed Spence, and Kevin Danso; midfielders Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Joao Palhinha, Archie Gray, and Xavi Simons; and forwards Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus, Dane Scarlett, Richarlison, and Randal Kolo Muani.
Vicario was the only goalkeeper seen in the video, with Antonin Kinsky and Brandon Austin not visible—though one or both are expected to be part of the travelling group to ensure adequate goalkeeping cover.
