Transfer insider Dean Jones has suggested that Liverpool fully intend to begin talks with Slot over a new contract in the coming months, insisting the club’s recent slump hasn’t changed their position.

Slot expected to sign a new deal soon
The pressure has certainly increased on Slot following Liverpool’s recent struggles, with former Manchester United scout Mick Brown suggesting the manager could soon find himself under scrutiny.
In today’s climate, where patience in football is rare, no coach can feel entirely safe—just ask Claudio Ranieri, who was dismissed at Leicester a year after winning the Premier League.
However, Slot still has significant credit with the Liverpool board after his impressive debut season, and a few strong results should quieten talk of his future.
