Another reshuffled defence on the cards? Predicted Tottenham Hotspur lineup vs AS Monaco

Tottenham Hotspur are set to travel to France to face AS Monaco in midweek Champions League action.
The Lilywhites remain unbeaten in Europe this season, but a growing injury list presents a major challenge for head coach Thomas Frank. With several first-team regulars unavailable, Frank will be forced to make key adjustments once again. Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, and Mathys Tel are all out—Romero and Udogie picked up knocks before the Aston Villa clash, while Tel remains ineligible for European competition.
Below is how Spurs could line up at Stade Louis II.
Tottenham predicted lineup vs AS Monaco
Goalkeeper: Guglielmo Vicario
Vicario retains his place in goal after another steady performance against Aston Villa. Despite some criticism over his positioning in one of the goals conceded, the Italian remains Tottenham’s reliable number one.
Defenders: Pedro Porro, Kevin Danso, Micky van de Ven, Djed Spence
Romero’s adductor issue keeps him sidelined, meaning Danso continues alongside Van de Ven in central defence. The Dutchman, however, is one booking away from suspension. Udogie’s injury allows Spence to continue at left-back, while Porro keeps his spot on the right. Spurs’ full-backs will need to stay alert, as Monaco are expected to target the wide areas aggressively.
Midfield: João Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall
Bentancur is expected to control the game’s tempo, alternating between dropping deep to help build from the back and pushing higher alongside Palhinha. Bergvall returns to the starting XI to provide progressive carries and link-up play in advanced phases.
Forwards: Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison, Xavi Simons
With Tel unavailable, Richarlison is set to lead the line, supported by Simons on the left and Kudus on the right. Simons will again be the main creative outlet after his impressive display against Villa, while Kudus’ direct style offers threat from the flank.
Predicted Tottenham lineup (4-3-3):
Vicario; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bentancur, Bergvall; Kudus, Richarlison, Simons.
