Liverpool boss Arne Slot has shared updates on the injuries to Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong — and the news isn’t particularly encouraging.

Slot admitted he’s still unsure about the extent of Isak’s issue, after the Swedish striker was forced off at half-time in the 5–1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt with a groin concern. The manager explained that managing Isak’s fitness has been tricky since the player missed three months of action during the summer.

Isak, who went on strike at Newcastle United to push through his move to Liverpool, appears to be feeling the effects of missing a full pre-season, which may now be catching up with him.

As for Frimpong, Slot confirmed the Dutch right-back’s situation looks worrying, suggesting he could be sidelined for several weeks.

These developments come at a difficult time for Liverpool, who, despite their emphatic victory in Frankfurt, have been struggling for form after four defeats in their last five matches. With a packed fixture list ahead, Slot will be desperate to have his key players fit and firing again.
